Behind the scenes: Edition 02
The long awaited warmer seasons have at last arrived here in the Netherlands. Slipping in quietly on a breeze that smells of blooming wisteria and warm stone. Light lingers longer now, painting the canals gold as if to make up for its long absence. It’s not only the environment that has regained it’s vitality but also the hum and buzz of the people’s spirit. This is the energy we’ve been waiting and working for for the arcé Spring Summer 2025 Edition 02 shoot.

Light lingers longer now, painting the canals gold as if to make up for its long absence. It’s not only the environment that has regained it’s vitality but also the hum and buzz of the people’s spirit. This is the energy we’ve been waiting and working for for the arcé Spring Summer 2025 Edition 02 shoot.
Cue lights, camera, action! In our regular style we decided to work as collaboratively as possible on the second official shoot for arcé. Of course Robbert and I have a vision but there’s something more fulfilling when it’s shared with those around you. Bringing in your community and sharing in creativity is what creates what couldn’t have possibly been before. For this beginning of the season shoot we worked closely with studio yesyes – a local small creative agency with a beautiful taste in aesthetic. We met with them over the preceding months to share visions on mood, collection, and the story that is arcé.

You know that saying, “it takes a village”? I think this spreads far and wide to many things. Most things you’re trying to build that’s bigger than yourself takes – well – more than just yourself. It takes many minds and determination in the same direction to make anything happen. We were endlessly grateful to expand the team for the edition 02 shoot.

Just like our edition 01 shoot I couldn’t believe my eyes as everyone instantly stepped in to help where they could. Robbert took creative direction, overseeing the styles, prepping the models, and trusting the rest of our team to do our parts. It was an all hands on deck event! The yesyes team and I split into our different roles; steaming, organizing garments on racks, getting snacks ready, organizing the studio space, taking photos, taking videos, setting up lights, you name it. We couldn’t have done what we did without the energetic enthusiasm of the team.
Just like our edition 01 shoot I couldn’t believe my eyes as everyone instantly stepped in to help where they could. Robbert took creative direction, overseeing the styles, prepping the models, and trusting the rest of our team to do our parts. It was an all hands on deck event! The yesyes team and I split into our different roles; steaming, organizing garments on racks, getting snacks ready, organizing the studio space, taking photos, taking videos, setting up lights, you name it. We couldn’t have done what we did without the energetic enthusiasm of the team.
I’m always someone who is touched by human connection but there was also a beauty in the human connection our collection had once brought to life by being worn. Our models moved elegantly in the light fabrics of summer, linen, cotton, and denim twill. There is a different beauty seeing the vision come together in real life even more lovely than you expected… The daylight studio space in Amsterdam beautifully captured the light as it filtered through white, airy curtains draping the tall open windows, naturally diffusing a luminous glow throughout the room. All the pieces clicked with the narrative that is arcé.
